Calvin Harris - Feel So Close
Here’s your new Friday Heater, which I almost forgot again, but somehow didn’t. Calvin Harris is one of my favourite popstars, because he’s not quite a popstar. Sure, he’s had number ones, and released a bunch of very successful records, but he’s remained down-to-Earth, his Twitter is refreshingly bullshit-free, and he’s always sort of an outsider, never quite playing The Game.
All of which was perfectly summed up when he expertly punctured the bubble of highly-polished hype that is The X-Factor, jumping on stage to mock Jedward’s stupid hairstyle with a pineapple.
He was due to appear as a guest on sister-show The Xtra-Factor, immediately after that episode of The X-Factor. That moment of Jarvis-esque silliness got him banned from The X-Factor forever.
Makes good songs, sees the humour in bullshit. I’ve always got time for Calvin Harris. Especially when he makes a perfect summer song like this.
